I Find Tinsel Distracting

This is an interesting question. I know I miss a lot of the '80s teen movie references (too old, not too young) and it's nice to be clued in on them on the boards here. (There's got to be some uber-geek website out there that catalogues and explains all of them.)

Yeah but how many musical song breaks do we need in one show? Sheesh!

and you could read all the names on the plaques waaaay in the back.

He was wrong though, ugliest-sounding male name is: Hubert.

That was another great line from AD:
"I can't believe you didn't know I murdered my college roommate. I stabbed her."

mbs: he was chewing on a toothpick and flipping a nickel. Funny either way.

Now, that's Family Guy.

I know, their skin tones look so sickly yellow now.

Um, okay… not sure what any of that has to do with homosexuality, but then I'm not as sophisticated as you.

Just because they didn't have a marriage certificate doesn't change the fact that they were a couple in a committed relationship, raising children together, while Woody was watching Soon-Yi blossom from an awkward 6-year-old into a gawky 16-year-old. Oh, and nude photos, yecch!

Yeah, Krusty's "sad" face with the droopy hair and yarmulke - so dignified.

Some of us were 26 when the show started - even saw the original shorts at film fests pre-Tracy Ullman Show (I know, you're impressed, you may touch me) - and still revere the "classic" first 8-10 seasons.

I noticed and was in a whirlwind of silent rage…

Joss Whedon doesn't care about black women.

Oh so more pretentious that way.

Maybe this only worked 30 years ago, but there was something hilarious about how "We are from France" made perfect sense to the humans to explain their cones and robotic speech and mass quantities of beer and chips.

God that joke still cracks me up, every friggin time! Poor Fry.

Ah yes, Robert
The unsung Belzer brother. Next week Joey Belushi and Jackie Phoenix. (I only kid out of love, NR, really.)

Loved LP-G (I always imagined the last name as a hyphenate) and all of the "Bad…" permutations.
