Guys, guys . . . Let it go.
Guys, guys . . . Let it go.
Hmmmm I didn't think about "End of the Rainbow". Perhaps you are correct then. If so, Audra has a solid chance of winning (I haven't seen it yet, but I'm just assuming she is amazing).
If Audra wins, it will probably be for Musical (If Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill qualifies as one, which it should).
Cranston may very well win, but he's got stiff competition from Zachary Quinto in "The Glass Menagerie" and Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen for both Waiting for Godot and No Man's Land . . . and…
"The Films of David Cronenberg: An Orifice History"
When will Hollywood drop the tired cliche of always making their titles a reference to some Hungarian word or custom . . . HOW ABOUT SOME ORIGINALITY PEOPLE!?
Do it. Its very rewarding and fascinating. The big jumps are a bit jarring, like "Naked Lunch" to "M. Butterfly" and "Spider" to "A History of Violence" . . . but they do speak to his desire to keep reinventing himself stylistically, even if his themes stay relatively consistent.
Small digression . . . I recently saw "All the Way" on Broadway and while I felt the play itself left a lot to be desired Cranston was obviously brilliant. Here's to one step closer to that EGOT!
I seem to recall a lot of hostility directed toward her (especially in the first half of Dexter's run), which I always though was weird. The problems with the character were never Carpenter's and I agree about her consistency. Her professionalism became more and more admirable as the show became more and more…
Too bad. Its gonna happen.
I just re-watched The Motion Picture . . . you are correct, Goldsmith's score is quite outstanding. Not just a franchise best but one of the best in the sci-fi genre.
“I don’t know and I don’t care.”
I've always wanted a "Kung Fu" film that was both sort of old timey and too modern at the same time.
I liked this movie a lot more than most. Yes, it has it's problems but I found Gondry's occasional whimsical bits to be appropriate. While he takes the emotions and situations these kids are in seriously the film never becomes "Urban Misery Porn" . . . which is what often passes for "realism" these days when…
DAMN YOU. DAMN YOU TO HELL!
In all seriousness . . . I'm gay and love action movies. I was being sarcastic, but I recognize that doesn't always read on the internet.
I WAS KIDDING!
NO. WE LIKE MUSICALS AND GLITTER!
I legitimately had no idea Emmerich was gay. Good for him.
Well no . . . see when a gay actor plays a gay character he's not really acting. All that swishing around and screaming with a lisp about musicals is just what they do normally. Hollywood likes to CHALLENGE its actors. :-)
*Buys ticket to "God is Not Dead", nods approvingly at the end of the movie, goes home, prays, hangs up on lesbian daughter when she says she is getting married, goes to bed, sleeps peacefully.
