It's my favorite song about middle-distance running… easily beating out Sea Wolf's "Middle Distance Runner."
Also, Lord Anthony.
Yes, and you can comment on comments on comments, but you can't comment on comments on comments on comments, because we have to draw the line somewhere.
I've seen some Skyrim-themed homebrew mead recipes that I've been wanting to try. Generally the Blackbriar mead is some combination of wildflower honey and blackberries.
Excuse me, bandit-who-is-trying-to-kill-me.
I know we're in the middle of a battle, but hold on a sec- I'm just going to eat these 30 bowls of cabbage-apple stew
What's the green stuff, mildew from sitting in the hold of a ship for 30 years?
The only thing I remember is some sort of patriotic montage set to "Fortunate Son," which always confuses me.
The only noteworthy thing I ever found at a library book sale was a paperback copy of Catch-22 signed by Joseph Heller. I doubt it's worth anything but it's cool to have.
I did get to see them live once, and you're right- those guys can sing (and play.) I hear they're recording a new album this month, so I'm looking forward to that.
Although if you're going for his country sound, I'd stick to his earlier stuff over Nothing's Going to Change the Way You Feel About Me Now (which I still enjoy, it's just not a very country-sounding album.)
Some suggestions off the top of my head: Wayne Hancock, Scott H Biram, Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies, Lydia Loveless, Whitey Morgan, Ha Ha Tonka, Jayke Orvis, Ugly Valley Boys, The Goddamn Gallows, Graham Lindsey, Rachel Brooke.
Back in my day, we'd watch Real Sex on HBO and make do with the gross naked hippies. We'd watch an entire movie because TV guide said there was brief nudity (edit: and just hope it wasn't some dude's ass.) If we were really lucky we'd be able to watch some late-night Cinemax.
I've pretty much got the exact same story, @avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus .
I'll still listen to their early stuff (mainly the first three albums) once in a great while, but mostly it just takes me back to an ugly period in my life that I'd rather not dwell on.
As were those stupid glasses. They looked like something Paulie would have thought were pretty cool.
That's the idea, but it would have been much more satisfying to bust him on the actual gangster shit he was doing.
I swear to God, I'll pistol whip the next guy that says "shenanigans."
The first Dawes song that I heard was "A Little Bit of Everything" and it nearly turned me off Dawes for good. The only reason I gave them another chance was because I got a free record from Daytrotter that was a Dawes/Justin Townes Earle split (and I'm a big JTE fan) so I figured since I had this record, I might as…
I had a couple of Nazi coins…. given to me by my grandfather, who got them in Europe in WWII, when he was fighting the fucking Nazis.
Other than that, not much interest in Nazi stuff.
It smells OK when not combined with the smell of dirty armpits and scalp oil.
