I know, right?  I get wanting to have a second set of eyes on the series, but if you've never watched it before you don't have any standing whatsoever to compare it to earlier episodes.  This is exactly the wrong type of review for a first-time reviewer to write.

Elizabeth Banks has seen better days.

Although I do give them props for finally addressing the marriage issue for Mitch and Cam, which had been studiously avoided for the entirety of the series.  It's about time they realized that they don't have to worry about pissing off the religious right when two of your main characters are gay guys who are raising a

So am I the only one who thought the lead singer of Alabama Shakes looked like Frank from 30 Rock sans hat, plus dress? I was doing triple takes during the performance, it was weirdly mesmerizing.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip anyone?

For the life of me I can't understand why they just don't create a new show.  Are they worried about losing an audience roughly 1/2 the size of Community's?

Point of fact: Parks and Recreation has explicitly acknowledged the presence of cameras on a few occasions.  At one point in season 2 Leslie asks Tom to keep something a secret and not tell anyone else.  He knowingly looks directly at the camera and says "sure" with an expression on his face that makes it clear that

Yeah if this was It's Always Sunny they totally would have killed him off.  This show just isn't that mean-spirited.

But the south park parody did have the James Cameron theme song, which makes up for it.

RR occasionally crosses the line from making a homage to bad movies and just straight up making bad movies.  Still Planet Terror and Sin City are great fucking movies.

I still really like Go, especially now that Timothy Oliphant has turned into such a badass.

The current Cerie is actually one of the backup dancers in the unaired pilot.  So not only did the original Cerie get re-cast, she was replaced by an extra.  Ouch.

But he was in Rolling Thunder too, so that pretty much cancels out.

That's pretty much exactly how I felt about it.  Great acting in the service of an extremely weak story.  It's like the movie equivalent of really excellent guitar players noodling around in a long boring song.

The one where Chandler shoots a kid in the face

That's definitely in my top 5 of the year.  The dude falling apart sequence deserves some technical awards at least.

I think that's right on.  The Master was a terrible movie with great acting.  I'm just surprised it didn't get more votes from the "it was boring and didn't make much sense and therefore must be saying something super profound" set.

He is the belle who does not tell

The French stuff is all pretty brutal and gory, but almost all of the movies mentioned above peter out at the end.  "Them" is the only one I've seen that I enjoyed top to bottom.
