I've never really understood the appeal of the Descent.  I thought the monsters were way too visible and it didn't do enough with the darkness.  That wouldn't have been as big of an issue if the monsters didn't look so cheesy.

I had a problem with Inside just because the characters were so freaking dumb, even by horror movie standards.  I can put up with a certain amount of "I'll be right back while I go check this out alone with my flashlight" idiocy, but Inside took it to a whole new level.

FUCK, DEX

FUCK, DEX

Seriously? The Raid?  I loved that movie, but I didn't find it particularly scary.  It's hard to feel the vulnerability of characters in a horror film when the protagonist is a gun-toting karate badass.

I took the ending to mean Vic is back to his old tricks, and it would be really interesting to see how he works that in his new line of work.  It's also hard for me to believe that he's not going to do everything in his power to track down his wife and kids.

The scene reminds me of the scene by the pool at the end of this season of Breaking Bad.  It manages to build up a huge amount of tension with nothing really happening.

The Wire is great but the ending is kind of disappointing.  It wraps up the series but didn't leave much of a lasting impression with me.

1. Hated it.  Re-watched it recently and hated it even more.  Huge letdown from the promise of the penultimate episode.
2. No idea.
3. The Shield absolutely destroys this incomplete handjob of a series finale, even while it left a lot of unanswered questions about what happens to Vic at the end.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

This show can pull off moments like that without getting schmaltzy better than any other show in TV right now.  Something about it just rings true.
