That would've made a lot more sense.

The A.V. Club
Pretty much. I wasn't into it at all during the height of Simpsons mania. My friends kept bugging me to watch it. I finally watched an ep in full with a friend, and then got into it via syndication and Season 6.
And W. Seymour Skinner.
Well, he was one of the red herrings b/c of his initials. But he had a knife at the town hall, not a gun.
Season 6 is when I got into the show hardcore. It was syndicated and I was watching those episodes, and S6 is the first season I watched weekly and live. I remember talking about this episode the next day with my friends at school. But I don't remember obsessing about it over the summer or anything. I did read all…
Since I'm listening to the commentary right now…it was a college student (or they had a college e-mail address). They guessed correctly, and back it up with facts and reasoning. But the person never entered the contest and the staff was legally prohibited from contacting the person. They have no clue who it is though.
I'm trying to stay unspoiled so don't talk about the next season, okay?
Exactly. And Scrubs and E.R. were aging shows at that time. 2006 was probably the saturation point for medical shows.
I was on Amazon yesterday and looking at that. Do you have to have Amazon Prime to watch it?
No, she wasn't adopted. Her fathers hired a surrogate. One of them was the biological father.
A lot of Arab actors balk at the number of terrorist or submissive wife roles they have to play, and refuse to do so. There's more to it than "not many Arab actors".
They're not going to say it specifically though. Variations on dog whistling happens in all arenas.
Rachel Berry is arguably Ashkenazi since she talked about a relative getting tested for Tay-Sachs in Season 1. But it's Glee, so take it with a grain of salt.
Intense dramatic actors are usually the funniest as well (see: Meryl Streep).
I'm not a black man, but that essay felt really off to me. There was so much self-loathing in it.
And sexist.
I came in expecting the worst. I'm pleasantly surprised by the level of discourse.
That's a double edged sword. There's also the trend of having a POC lead and surrounding them with white people.
You're not missing anything. I watched most of the first season, and I couldn't get into it. And then I hear about all the problematic elements from actual fans about the later seasons, so it was like why bother?
