My entire backyard was basically one enormous sandbox (the earth moving company that cleared the lot took off all the topsoil). I'd use the hose to create a river, and would then proceed to build elaborate multi-stage dams on it. Tonka trucks, cranes, bulldozers and power shovels were an integral part of the process.
