TVDW talked about having the first five episodes, and it sounded like he was pretty positive about those five as a whole, so it ought to keep up its quality for at least that long.  Maybe even longer!

I don't think I fully realized how much I was looking forward to this show, and how much I was expecting it to end up being really bad.  Bryan Fuller is awesome, Mads Mikkelsen is awesome, and Will Graham and Hannibal's relationship is pretty much the only thing about Hannibal that hasn't been thoroughly run into the

My personal favorite run on X-Men is the Chris Claremont/Paul Smith stuff, which includes things like Rogue's induction into the X-Men and Storm's descent into mohawkness, which is my favorite version of the character by far.  I'm always really surprised that Paul Smith's work isn't more highly regarded.

@TaumpyTearrs:disqus The fact that you're using words like "healed" and "repaired" kind of proves my point about it being destroyed in the first place, so I maintain that my description of events is still accurate. It generally goes without saying that in the world of superhero comics, nothing popular is ever truly

Sounds like someone doesn't know about Nate Grey, the alternate universe version of Cable from the Age of Apocalypse, cloned by Mr. Sinister from genetic material taken from that univere's Jean Grey and Scott Summers. He survived the destruction of that reality by the M'Krann Crystal along with his archenemy Holocaust

However, if he ends up doing a Star Control movie then I'll be all kinds of thrilled.

@avclub-8bfa0025c9721437f95345295a6746b3:disqus Alternatively, the whole show is also free on Hulu right here: http://www.hulu.com/lexx.  I would have watched it by now, but there are way too many other shows out there which are praised in a much less…qualified way.

It reminded me of The Quickening too!  I'd consider The Quickening to be a better episode, probably due in part to being much more focused, but it was a really neat reveal about the Peacekeepers.

On a related note, does Moya have a shitload of guns stored somewhere?  It seems like Aeryn has been carrying a different one around almost every episode.

TGIF,A seems to be the first episode to give us a close look at what sort of effects the Peacekeepers have on innocent civilizations.  The recent review of the DS9 episode The Quickening caused me to think about how a show can develop a villainous force more effectively by showing its victims, and it was kind of neat

@avclub-bbb04f2a70775131fa0397bbdb4c03de:disqus  The Minbari are the most powerful group and had their leader killed, causing them to seek out a lengthy and ill-advised revenge against those responsible, which they eventually backed off from.  They also seem to be the most prone to discipline and coordinated

And the EMH deserves credit for being the best thing about Voyager.

I never expected Babylon 5 to be even a little bit subtle about its influences, but Minipax was one of the first ones where it was so blatant that I strongly disliked it.  By the time they mentioned the Ministry of Truth it was just kind of funny.  I'm not sure if they ever had a Miniluv or not.

@avclub-04d524031f29c89d78cae864bd6f0de7:disqus Now I'm picturing JMS crawling down an alleyway bleeding while a vision of himself ridicules him for all the poor writing choices he's made over the years.

Okay, boppers. Downbelow is finally starting to cool down after last
night's heatwave. One thing's for sure, though. The truce is most definitely off. Sorry, Taro Isogi. Some things are just too good to be true, I guess. My apologies again to that crew from Mars. That was a long walk home you boys had. Remember,

I think that game is amazingly awesome.  It did a really good job enormously expanding the story and developing the characters, and it balances between keeping things a little bit sandbox-y while still driving the story forward.  I'm also a sucker for anything beat-em-up, even if Mike Haggar isn't involved.

Lacking any other evidence, I'm going to assume that Howling Mad Amis rejoined with his old buddies who were sent to prison during the Earth-Minbari War for a crime they didn't commit, and that they spend the rest of the show surviving as soldiers of fortune in the B5 underground.

Mild Spoilers, Maybe
