Inventories have pretty much always been about starting conversations, not defining them. That's part of why they're unsorted! If you wanna make the case for whoever, nothing is stopping you.
The key here is "beloved." The criteria I used was "would there be websites/many fans making lists of the actors they want playing these roles?" So it just being an adaptation isn't enough, it has to be a character that's bigger than the actor.
and Ella Baker
Start of S2 is too early…but I considered pitching Marcus except that the show was already peaking without him, and then kept peaking with him.
Anya and Spike in Buffy S4 are the reason to watch Buffy S4. I'm totally with you. (and I love S4)
I agree that Toph makes Avatar work she's just too soon. Don't think there's anyone else in this inventory from the start of the second season.
well now I feel bad for not at least nominating Karla Crome. DAMMIT.
Start of season 2 was just too early. I thought about nominating either Katherine Hale or Avery Markham as S6 brought Justified back from the brink of S5, but neither of them really seemed to do it on their own.
I nominated Spike as well for a special Buffy/Angel dual inventory thing. so yeah, you're not alone here. But Fred's really the big thing for Angel, where Spike's helpfulness to Buffy is….controversial.
Yes I do, and I specifically chose the term because of the comedic editing and music attached to those scenes. Thanks for your support.
Did it though?
Riley got similar complaints as Kala, yes, but including that caveat would have ruined the joke.
OITNB has more distinct episodes and he had more screeners earlier. Also he's a wayyyy faster writer than I am.
See, I don't think Dollhouse *ever* became the show it initially wanted to be. All the discussion was about the darkness of the people who would hire dolls, and that only showed up in tiny bits and pieces. The spy thriller/dark SF philosophy came much later, and while they were great, I don't think they were the plan.
3 episodes per week was exhausting enough.I wouldn't want to do daily at all.
JMS takes a lot of unfair flack for plot decisions in those stories imposed from on high.
Cloud Atlas is an interesting parallel here because it seemed to have that celebration of humanity with a total commitment to violence-as-a-last-resort. This may have been why it proved so controversial—there was just enough Wachowski action to make the people who expected that want more.
It sort of is, and since Wolfgang's dad is an unambiguous asshole, that's not really a good thing.
It seemed like that Royal Tenenbaums tennis scene.
