I wanna know who's idea it was to name the title chracter "Roscoe Jenkins". Was Blacky Blackerson taken? Was it supposed to be some sort of signifyer that black people should go see this movie? Roscoe Jenkins, I'm still not over that.

I also disagree with your description of the characters as hollow, emotionless, and detached", the guys they are at the beginning are not fit to go to war, in boot camp they sort of lose their identity, they all have the same haircut, new names, etc., and the people they become are people that can kill.

Fight Club works for more than the twist, in three acts it goes from yuppie slowly loosing his mind, to fight club, to project mayhem, even if that twist weren't in there there would be two significant tonal shifts.

That only happened to him once, almost 25 years ago, when he was slowly screwing his way across Europe.

Ya know Baits, that's pretty close. It was a few weeks before I'd turned 20, and I a do loves me some K-Von, but not until about a year ago. I like "Cashmere" though, so that's probably what got me off the hook.

I'm sorry Bellona, but for a second there it looked like you said "definately up there as far as 20th 'Clit' goes", I had a good laugh.

Soooooooo glad I saw them live
Last October, their 100th show, Bob Nastanovitch showed up, I was front row, I have Berman's set list and he looked at me and smiled during "Random Rules". I'm repeating these things to myself to feel reassured that everything is gonna be okay. I hope he writes a movie up real good.

I've gotta see it, I don't wanna, I've gotta, to paraphrase Roger Ebert "Bitch what is a trailer? Fuck a trailer, it ain't no movie, that Croc Hunter movie was a good ass movie, but the trailer was whack as all fuck".

I with you Werdsmiff, Stark lived in California, he could've had In & Out Burger or even Fat Burger and he picks BK? Seriously, way more ridiculous than building a flying suit that's powered by your pacemaker.

I don't get the Led out much either, it always comes off as a self indulgent wank-fest.

You dislike the first White Stripes album? It may be my favorite, at least lyrically, and as for Elephant, it's just so heavy, like Cream heavy.

There may be hope for me on some of these things, I never understood John Cale until I heard "Fair Weather Friend" a few months ago, as a Velvets fan, I really wanted to like him, just like as a Pistols fan, I want to like PIL.

Oh, and Led Zepplin.

yeah, Pink Floyd, yuck, not even when I'm baked.

I just read the first trade of Powers and hated it, it was predictable as all hell and (SPOILER ALERT) Bendis clearly killed off Retro Girl's murderer because he was too lazy to keep that story going. I loved House of M, the Avenger books and Ulitimate Spidey though, because I feel he makes the superhero community

I just don't "get" why people love:
Fugazi
Minor Threat
PIL
Jay-Z
The Arcade Fire
It Happened One Night
Harold & Maude
The Breakfast Club
Most post "Elephant" White Stripes material
300
The Dictators
Joanna Newsom
Cat Power

Outlander! Her blood will spill.

'06 as well, I was voted most artistic and most unique, also a theatre kid.

100 Years
Congratulations Jackie Chan!

I just realized
I really need an MP3 of that "Brownie Mountain" song they had Frank Black do.
