"Against All Odds" was one I played a lot when I was going through my divorce. My marriage desperately needed to be put out of its' misery, but the line "You're the only one who really knew me at all"? It still hit me like a punch to the chest.

So did he actually talk about sex when Color Me Badd came on the radio?
Pat DiNizio may have gone off into some bizarre Obama-hating territory there for a while, but the Smithereens are a really great band. Deserved a lot more than they got.
While we're on the subject of schmaltz, I've found my resistance to Phil Collins and Collins-era Genesis ebbing a lot over the past few years. Those albums can be hugely uneven (and you don't need to bother with anything at all after We Can't Dance), but I'd go crazy with joy if I heard a new band put out something…
The 33 1/3 series started out with clever and insightful stuff, but eventually turned into unreadable fappery. Maybe I'm just getting old and crochety, but music criticism impresses me a lot less now than it did when I was in my 20s and 30s.
I'm not going to claim that "My Heart Will Go On" is necessarily good music, but it was the perfect thing to play during the closing credits of Titanic. There are plenty of songs far more worthy of hate than that.
My God, William's summary up there could have been written by me. I even saw it with my class in the fourth grade.
It's a great movie until the other people show up. And yes, what the hell was up with that ending?
*Charles Grodin walks away crying and holding wilted flowers.*
Hank always calling him "Rick Springfield" doesn't sound like much by itself, but on the show it got funnier and funnier every time.
I'm thinking of having that tattooed on my face, dearest.
NO, NO, NO!!! TOO SEXY!!! TOO SEXY!!!
He's going to solve a…how do you say it?
Absolutely. I've seen it six or seven times and it never gets old.
"Gardenhead (Leave Me Alone)" is the NMH song I sing to myself the most.
I was just saying on another thread that I'm surprised that The Voyage Home has gained such a bad rep. It's still by far my favorite Trek film.
My two favorite Scorcese films are probably The King of Comedy and (seriously) The Wolf of Wall Street. I like and appreciate him, but I'm (obviously) not a mammoth fan.
I've had people tell me I'm crazy for this, but I love Reveal. I always put it on when winter finally starts turning into spring and it always hits the spot. HUGELY underrated album.
Beach Boys.
In tuxedos.
