I'd argue saying Logan, Avengers, and CA: Civil War were based on his writing is pretty generous. At most, someone took his generic log lines ("Wolverine in Unforgiven," "Avengers meet, squabble, and fight aliens," and "Superheroes should fight each other") and made much better stories out of them. None of those

Yeah, it sorta feels like he doesn't get the basic appeal of his 2 main characters. Or at least he's not sure how to write a "ship-able" TV couple.

Agreed on all points! I'm cool with streamlining or inventing from whole cloth when adapting something, so long as it helps that version of the story. But I don't see how the Jesse/Tulip history's tweaks do a thing but hurt it.

It's crazy that somehow an Irish vampire, an undying cowboy-themed murder avatar, and a one-eyed BDSM nihilist manipulating a global religious conspiracy all made the transition from comics to TV almost completely intact, but Jesse and Tulip's backstories needed radical reimagining.

100% the latter. I almost never do anything but silently lurk here, but the alleged phrase "which itself are" forced my hand.

I guess I logged in with the full intention of being "that guy," but that doesn't mean I'm not conflicted about it:

Who are you, Wizard magazine? Not every bald character is Patrick Stewart.

Back when he was hyping the comic, Kirkman always used to say that he loved zombie movies, he just hated that they ended, even though the characters were still living through the zombie apocalypse. He constructed THE WALKING DEAD as a zombie movie that never needed, and whose characters would always need to fight to

Still holding out hope that they reveal the Wiig/Rogen "flashbacks" to be scenes from the in-universe Imagine Entertainment biopic.

Season 4: The one where everyone gets laid.

Roger Ebert had an amazing gift for writing like he was speaking to his reader. After following his reviews for 20 years, I felt like I knew the man's sensibilities in relation to mine perfectly; There was admittedly some general overlap, but he was also a skilled and honest enough writer that, before I saw a film, I

Hey, he's stranded on an island with nuthin' but sandy rice. Even shipworms are protein.

If memory serves, all of the DIE HARD sequels started out as other projects before being retrofitted. I know for a fact DIE HARD 2 and LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD were both based on unrelated written works, and were initially developed as independent feature adaptations before being McClane-ified..

Yeah, the writer's way off on this one.
