When this episode first aired, I don't think I fell into either camp. There were a few gags that I liked. But I felt like the episode reached into a place that didn't feel right. And it wasn't like Skinner/Tamzarian. But in both of those cases, I felt like the episode just wasn't all that strong.
I still like

It's very rare that I get angry at a piece of news. Usually with political news, it's just something like "Looks like those clowns in congress did it again." With this piece of news, I'm actually angry.

Every now and then, I try to come up with a reason why I like horror movies as much as I do.
This is one of the more interesting explanations - placing himself in the role of the monster. That tends to only work for sympathetic monsters, less so for outright villains.
His talk about being shy and introverted explains

I really love Tales From the Darkside. I've got the four seasons on my DVD shelf, and I even picked up Monsters, the less successful followup series. I think anthology horror should always be available on TV.
Anyone who likes this sort of stuff, I strongly recommend the series Darknet, which you can find on Netflix.

I was disappointed by the poor yearbook writing I got from a girl. When I got her yearbook, I wrote - with my non-dominate hand - "Have a summer."

I've been increasingly disappointed with the Marvel comics universe. I don't trust this event to correct the problems, because the problems have been driven by sales data, mostly.

I'd like to see Mission: Impossible revived for TV. Not quite the way that the 88-90 version was done, but I think they could turn it into something that followed the same layout as the original series, but incorporated some character development and some more genuine risks and occasional character deaths. Plus,

Booty Call II: Electric Bootyloo

The first time I watched this episode, this was the only gag that stuck with me. The rest of the episode was mostly okay, but this is still the only thing that stands out in my memory.

I can still hold out hope that a more comprehensive collection of Life In Hell will be released. Look at how long it took before Bloom County was issued. All that took was someone who was willing to do all the work to put it together.

One of the other lines from a more modern episode is during the Angry Dad Movie. Angry Dad gets very thirsty, and he breaks a dam and drinks all the water. He says "Dam that's good!"

Neither of my most-commonly referenced quotes have shown up in the comments.
First, is answering the phone with "Ahoy hoy"
I actually brand most of my creative endeavors under the name Ahoyhoy - as in Ahoyhoy Music.

I'll go against the flow, and say that "DENTAL PLAN" isn't anywhere near my top… 100 Simpsons quotes. It's not applicable to everyday life, and it stinks of padding out a short episode. Honestly, I prefer the gag with the pencil being dropped down Homer's crack.

I remember seeing the first two in theaters. I found them confusing, but at least the first one was fairly evocative. The second one was ridiculous.
Then I forgot about the movies for a long time.

I can't quite say that I hate Ralph now, but they seem to have felt like non sequiturs are the way to charm the audience using Ralph. I felt like many of his earlier appearances in Lisa's Rival or I Love Lisa implied that he was probably just a little behind the curve, but mostly he just had a different kind of

As a kid, I really loved the first half. The second half had some fun bits, but the final confrontation was anticlimactic. There were still some strong visuals leading up to it.
But as an adult, I realized that the problem wasn't just the ending. It was that there wasn't a way to write an ending that would live up

Between me and my family - Mixed Nuts.
No one has mentioned it here, and it never got a great reception, but it has aged well. It has Madeline Khan, Steve Martin… Adam Sandler is even very charming in it.

I watched this for the first time since I was a kid last year, and it moved along better than I remembered. There was one thing in particular that I really liked.

Right, he's a musician and composer, but I wouldn't consider him a songwriter.
Although, to be fair, calling someone a "shoddy songwriter" would imply that they don't do a great job with both music and lyrics. Dave does have problems with music occasionally, but not nearly as often as his problems with lyrics.
