Sigh. Feminism originated in the desire for equal rights (emphasis on "equal"). GamerGate originated in a pissed-off ex-boyfriend alleging (falsely) that his gaming journalist girlfriend was sexually unethical in her career, which in turn led to (and/or highlighted) disturbing, gendered threats and persecution of

I am perfectly willing to believe that some fringe Gamergaters have poisoned the well. But the well is still poisoned.

I'm just saying that if you're truly interested in investigating corruption in video game journalism (which is a real but non-gendered issue), you should probably dissociate yourself from Gamergate and start a new platform, because Gamergate is indistinguishable from misogyny at this point.

Buddy . . . Lots of people say the Civil War wasn't about slavery, and that the South was fighting for states' rights. Even if that were true, to fight on the side of the South still involved fighting for slavery. Do you get the analogy?

Psssst, Lars Broeders . . . Lars Broeders, come here . . .

Cutest infestation ever (excepting koalas)!

But chickens aren't cute, so I don't really care (said the city-dweller who romanticizes wild animals because she doesn't have to deal with the consequences of actually living amongst them).

You're not dissuading me here.

As I child I was running through the woods, tripped, and landed within kissing distance of a snarling possum corpse. I will never understand people who find them cute.

YOU DIDN'T LET HIM IN? YOU MONSTER!

I'm completely serious! I was the same way as you and relentlessly mocked a friend of mine who watched religiously, but then a few years ago he convinced me to give it a try, and I'm now an honest-to-god, non-ironic fan of Survivor. It's a compelling and interesting show with a great commentariat community on this

Is it sad that Sean Patrick Thomas was in such a bit part in the Bones episode? As a recognizable actor, I assumed he'd at least end up being the bad guy (following the rules set by Law & Order), but nope. He's attractive (in ageless way, to boot) and a competent actor; why is playing a nothing, one-off role on an

I was glad they had the crowd get a bit anxious at that, instead of continuing to yuck it up.

Hey now, Survivor is awesome.

I agree, but then when Jenny and Joe didn't, you know, call the police after some random woman pulled a gun on them when they were just looking up his dad's old Army buddy, I'd imagine he'd find that suspicious.

And why do her fear blossoms bloom even when Ichabod and Abbie foil her plans? Does it not matter if the plan is actually successful? She never seems particularly upset when, for instance, the undead Redcoats don't slaughter acres of innocent townsfolk.

Hell, I read The Fountainhead and Anthem when I was like 16 or 17, and if you'd asked me then, I'd have said, on record, that Ayn Rand is awesome. Thankfully I tackled Atlas Shrugged next and it finally dawned on me that no, no she is not.

I can't imagine Stephen living through that. Weights? Ropes? Elastic? It's a minefield!

I don't get it either. I understand being uncoordinated — hell, I live being uncoordinated — but with the physical abilities he's demonstrated, I don't understand how he can even crossfit (I don't actually know what crossfit is, but I assume it involves controlling one's body enough to successfully complete an action,

Kim would never have pulled such a boneheaded move. In fact, she probably would have gotten someone to volunteer and think it was his/her own idea!
