I don't know, wouldn't it just be dramatic irony for the audience to know that Glenn is dead while the characters wonder and hope? I don't see why that's such terrible storytelling. It just makes it extra sad. And it's a legitimately likely outcome: one time, someone just doesn't come back.

I agree that Glenn is most likely alive and it's not as big a stretch as some seem to think. However, while it might symbolically operate that way, I don't believe Nicholas intentionally sacrificed himself to save Glenn, given that he would have no way of planning for his body to fall on top of Glenn, such that Glenn

No kidding. Not to mention the Mysterious Government Agency that inexplicably doesn't want to recruit a superpowered force for good because they "don't trust aliens," even though everyone practically worships Superman.

Oh yeah, good point. For some reason I just assumed German Henchman is double-crossing Rose, but perhaps not. Another bad guy (gal) could be fun!

"Should I call him back?"

Wait, I just assumed Rose/Denise is Heidi von Ocher. Do we have reason to think otherwise?

He's like her publicist, I gather, or agent. His job is to market her to the masses (she initially let him on her secret because he lamented that rando-girl wasn't going to get any traction without a costume).

Seriously. I'm 37 years old and still refer to myself as a "girl," but it BUGS me that I do that. I'm a grown-ass woman, and Calista Flockhart's character is doubly so (as an older woman in power). Just admit that "Supergirl" is catchier than "Superwoman" and also that our society infantilizes women in ways it does

My 87-year-old grandma recommended that movie to me. When Brad Pitt got [spoilered] in the [spoiler], I realized my grandma's pretty fucking cool, and I'd never really noticed.

Fair enough!

I do live in the US, actually. It's not so much that the names themselves are strange, but that I have a hard time imagining parents who like the name Jessica also liking the name Saffron, especially at the same time in their lives (those kids were twins, right?). It just seems like it'd be two more traditional names

I've finally found my breaking point regarding what I'm willing to believe in this show. I'm willing to believe in time travel, headless horsemen, demons, the apocalypse, and the like, but I refuse — refuse — to believe parents would name one daughter Jessica and the other Saffron.

I haven't played most of the newer Zelda games, I have to admit. I played Ocarina of Time, and I think that's the most recent one I've played (I KNOW). With that limited repertoire acknowledged, I'll say that I think the best Zelda game — and possibly the best game ever — is Link to the Past on SNES.

Oh that's certainly true. I don't know how anyone ever got through The Legend of Zelda — and, even more so, The Adventures of Link — without a walk-through. I mean, I did, and that means I can still play those games today without "cheating" (because even though I can't remember shit these days — seriously, at the end

I'm not sure what you mean by LoZ being "obtuse" (I know what the word means; I'm just not sure what you mean about LoZ in using it), but you take that back anyway!

I think they believed her because it wouldn't make sense for Kimmi to turn on an alliance-member without cause. I mean I guess Kimmi could have made a secret deal with Spencer and Wiglesworth so that once Monica was gone, they could turn on Jeremy and Stephen, but that seems overly Machiavellian as compared to just

Question: Would it behoove Joe to dial it back a bit in challenges (and in MacGyver'ing around camp) so that people are less quick to tag him as a challenge beast who has to GO post-merge, or is there just no hiding that even if he were the type to do so (which he isn't)?

I'm a big fan of "guys' gals" and do like Kimmi's . . . I want to say brassy nature, but I think that word probably has a negative connotation that I don't intend, so I'll use your "strong and comfortable" nature instead. But when being a "guys' gal" extends to being patronizing to women, I get annoyed. But I also

I think the editors just decided to go with the "it's obvious to everyone but the boot" edit, ala Drew. That works better when the oblivious boot is an ass, though, and Monica seemed perfectly harmless. Maybe it's also intended to build to some sort of Kimmi take-down later?

It's not her temper or her emotional nature that bugs me. It's the fact that she (apparently, possibly due to editing, I'll admit) can't stand not to be the center of attention, such that she has to (lamely) try to one-up Woo's dying mother for God's sake. It's all worth it for the Tasha-Abi stuff, but barely.
