He did imply that the guy was an entitled asshole…

It has to be the idea of it that turns you on, not just the physical sensation, and it goes without saying that there needs to be appropriate foreplay (at which the trans sex worker in the column was obviously an old pro; your urologist, not so much).

Indeed they did—in my opinion, they were among the most contemptible people in the film, and that segment was one of the more serious social comments being made. If you watch it again, I think you'd agree. (The premise was that he had to use the bathroom, but was unfamiliar with modern Western plumbing such as flush

"undeserving people […] the family that invited him over to a dinner party that he thanked with a bag of shit"
So, bringing a baggie of shit to the dinner table = OK, we can handle that, just explain it to him nicely
However, inviting a black woman to their house = Sorry, party is over right now

Great interview. Love her, always have.

Me too. We need more English-major humour around here

Saw the original Arthur for my first time only a few weeks ago on TCM. I thought it was pretty good, especially Gielgud and Minelli. I'd submit it hasn't aged as badly as many other 80s comedies.

Another vote for Spinal Tap. I only listened to the first 10 minutes and skimmed the rest, and was in stitches. You wouldn't think it'd be a hard sell, but I'm actually saving it for an occasion when I can convince someone to watch it with me again. Incomprehensible…

Terrific song and a great soundtrack album. I would give "Julia" the nod over "For the Love of Big Brother," but only by a hair. "Julia" is beautiful, poetic, poignant, musically very simple but lush-sounding… I'm getting shivers just thinking about it.

Union City Blue
Awesome song. Always loved its mournful quality. Never knew it had a video. Gave me shivers down my spine and a put a smile on my face just now. Thanks…

Zing!!

Love PG3. Another fun fact: Gabriel's no-cymbal concept was taken up by Kate Bush, his backup vocalist on that album, for her next two (The Dreaming and Hounds of Love). I'd be curious to know what gave rise to the idea…
