I'm forced to agree with you on this one.  Having recently done a complete watch-through of the entire series to catch someone else up, I'd go as far to say that this may be my least favorite episode of the entire series so far.

I thought the movie actually does a great job - with that creepy music and whatnot - of selling the idea of how creepy and disorienting and weird some of that stuff is.  Being gone for eight years and going to your old house to find different people living there…seeing your parents and little brother now so much

As a massive Stereolab fan, I've always really enjoyed their long songs the most.  "Refractions in the Plastic Pulse" off of Dots and Loops is probably my favorite - it's got great shifting sections and never gets "old."  Yo La Tengo have some great long, hypnotic stuff too.  Enough people have already mentioned Pink
