@avclub-6dafab5f86d9e5f32ba9ce303d86098f:disqus "I mean, it's not like they just straight up used The Velvet Underground's Heroin." Unlike, say, this ad?

Saw these guys in D.C. last night and they did both "No Diggity" and "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart." They also did some meddley of one of their own songs, "Need You Tonight" by INXS, and "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. They were very entertaining.

I'm late to the party, but I still remember you, TMfSP. You got that amazing firstie on the Aronofsky/Natalie Portman movie and you fervently believed in bigfoot. Come back!

While everything the folks above me said is true, it also helps that Human After All is not very good at all and the new one is fantastic. The album before Human After All, 2001's critically beloved Discovery, is probably the better comparison point, and that's certified gold in the United States.

OSU grad here. Two of my friends have exactly those customized jerseys and wear them out during football season all the time. Very few people get the joke.

@avclub-4caf6aa0375b2499ebfe7e971b36eee3:disqus In New Zealand, Sheeple actually constitute about 20% of the population.

@Prankster36:disqus : I just meant superficially - it's fictional neuro-tech being used for illicit purposes rather than like, scientific research or something. They also both introduce these technologies as kind of mundane and only later stop to consider the full existential implications of this kind of technological

Dollhouse is my go-to for proof that TV is an inherently conservative medium. All of the best shows of the late-2000s TV renaissance are basically just well-done genre shows. Even The Wire started out as an extremely good cops-and-robbers show and then sprawled from there. Dollhouse, on the other hand, is very similar

So, I just looked at Bob Balaban's Wikipedia page and it turns out that he (the actor) is the author of a successful children's book series about a bionic dog. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Bewar… What a weird little show this is.

@avclub-73d327b8f23a3d5e86d736cdfcb1b271:disqus  Ugh, the worst is when someone (I like to think my roommate, but in all reality, probably me) leaves the toaster unplugged because he was using a crockpot or something the night before and so I've actually put the toast down and I'm pulling the eggs off the stove or

I'm a white male, aged 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are!

Who needs the Kwik E Mart? Not meeeeeeeeeee…

Sandwich with roasted or smoked turkey breast and white bread. Or basically any situation in which you might use a sweeter mustard.

God help you if you use voiceover, my friend. That is just a clutch to hide lazy storytelling.

I liked the Soviets' reaction to the conversation between the Secretary of Defense and the British Minister. One of the things that a lot of Americans didn't realize about Star Wars was that the Russians viewed it as inherently aggressive. When the Brit said something like "imagine what it will be like when we don't

Yeah, I still remember what a revelation it was that "Sympathy for the Devil" was just the best song ever recorded and how my dad was just like, "…yeah, I know."

Are tropical crops more labor intensive and so you need the native population to stick around? Or are they harder
