It's kind of sad to be commenting on threads everyone abandoned a week ago, but I don't think Sophia represents the spirit of America specifically so much as the future, or more specifically, hope that the future won't have the same kind of bad things the past has had in it.

I was so fucking excited about this movie. Then when I saw it, my 11-year-old brain didn't quite process what had happened. I went for some time feeling that I hadn't seen it, because the movie I was going to see was super awesome and about Mario Bros, the game, whereas the movie I had actually seen was about awful.

Really? You agree with me? I thought it was a slightly fanciful scenario myself.

@Elitist Trash
They could have had half a dozen of them. Or 50. The dead sentinels would have plugged the hole. The big digging things could have been affected through the rock.

The Matrix Sentinels were weak as shit in the third movie! Sure there were heaps of them, but why oh why do they break into the big chamber, thousands of them, and just swarm around in a single stream so the twin heavy machine guns of the mech-things can do their work? Scary would have been swarming straight at them,

Every time you legitimise reality TV by watching it, Fox executes a talented up-and-coming writer.

I'll get the nails.

Elitist Trash, I stand by my assessment. Scenario: punk 14 yo sees the most convenient blockbuster on a Saturday night. It seems silly, with a convoluted plot made frivolous by terrible performances and action scenes with ridiculous squelching and super-fake blood everywhere. You are vaguely aware that it is based on

But I'm not looking forward to every episode being him waking up weak and pale, vomiting for 35 minutes straight, then collapsing and his waifish frame being carried effortlessly by his wife back to bed.

Is the act of posting a complaint about ZMF while pretending not to be in on the joke a new type of spoof comment, or has it been going on for a while?

Dot dot dot, maybe there's a little of each. Or maybe the stupid will be a lot more likely to try Watchmen and the smart will be a lot less likely.

Remember that this is my reaction to watching the film, which in my mind had the effect of both lionising the original and pushing it out of reach of a lot of people who will now think of Watchmen as cheesy and clumsy.

I just got back from a screening and am damn mad
How could the beautiful, graceful, textured graphic novel be transformed into something so goofy and cheesy that punk snotnose fourteen year olds are giggling at it?

NO! BAD! WE SHALL NOT REFER TO THAT AS GOOD ACTING!!

That's bullshit Ellie, don't believe it.
