I don't know what's going on in the Stormlands now. I assume they've reconciled with the Iron Throne since Renly's death. I don't think Stannis is in charge there, or else why would they stay in the caves on Dragonstone?

Last episode (or was it two) where Robyn dropped the glass bird down, the door was opened only a crack. I think normally it would be closed, but since Robyn is obsessed with it and his mother is nutty, they keep it open a little more often than one might otherwise expect.

I would be pissing myself every second I was in that hall, door closed or no.

Why waste the energy?

I'm finding him charming as all get-out. The guy last season did a better job of communicating the dude's foreignness (compared to the Westerosi that are Danerys's inner circle — obviously they are in fact the foreigners here), but he was just too slimy.

The later seasons of that show were partly the story of how Tommy became Littlefinger.

Robyn might be made Lord, but at his age you'd expect a regent.

Not Samaire Armstrong!

Yeah, it's not a surprising mistake — if you know Buchanan was the only bachelor president (which I'm sure all those guys knew) and you knew he had been Sec'y of State, or even thought it a good guess, then you do the math and, like us, you're off by five or six years, there you go.

I knew Rice and did the math and figured Seward.

I haven't watched DS9's final episodes since they aired, by I don't think that reading is supportable, because to me, if S31 hadn't created the virus in the first place the Federation would never have won the war. Sure, it wouldn't have been genocide, but the Alpha Quadrant powers would be thralls to the Dominion like

That's dumb.

I'd be awfully disappointed if I don't get included in my daughters' weddings.

I suppose my defense of this stuff is partly based in privilege goggles. We had our wedding (it wasn't crazy, but it wasn't non-traditional either) and bought out house back when I was rich.

I have this argument here all the time, but I categorically reject that "pretty pretty princess" and feminism are diametrically opposed. That's the all-too-common left-wing condescension rearing its head.

"the accouterments of the…wedding seem secondary to the importance of the actual symbolism of the ceremony."

Oh, but that sounds like so much work.

Henry Darger.

"I don't know the F-word."

Citadel of Chaos is the only one I ever finished, although I did eventually figure out my mistake in City of thieves, then lost the book before I could implement it.
