The Vines were my first "proper" (the quotation marks are much heavier than they look) rock concert. I was 16, I had a good time, I think they're first album actually holds up ok as bubble-gum pop. But by God, they blew it spectacularly.

In the 'The Trip' Coogan played a more stuck up version of himself who was obsessed with breaking into the US market, but baulked when offered the lead of TV show about a genius but flawed pathologist because it was way too generic.
Apparently Teslar invented a lot of machines he eventually destroyed before anyone else used them. I'm positive at least one was a cloning device.

A lot of people complain that the 'twist' is mundane, but isn't that the point? The whole movie is about how boring the reality of it all is, about how we 'want to be fooled', 'no-one cares about the man in the box', 'you're not really looking', etc. Perhaps it's a metaphor for the magic of movies in general.
Season 1 was Lost's only legitimately great season. After that, 4 works pretty well as a lean thriller year, but seasons 5 and 6 are schlocky garbage. Still can't believe how many apologists they have on here..

Kubrick's an obvious example in his debate, probably Exhibit A in the 'yes, some filmmakers should be taken more seriously' argument. I can affirm I enjoyed Eyes Wide Shut a lot more on repeat viewings, which is a funny example because it's a film a lot of critics themselves dismissed upon its opening.
