"A tragedy with a happy ending; my favorite kind."
Re: tickets to "Oliver." From Mr. Powell. Then they pass Kinsey in his office, playing the guitar. Then Guy McKendrick tells both Pete and Peggy "I know everything about you. You are a very impressive [person].

There were ads for it? On FX or elsewhere? On line? I guess Iwas their target audience for those teaser ads: I had no clue what was coming up next. (and why was Linda whatserface doing the voiceover?)

The first 10 minutes of Juno are excruciating to me…
The timeline doesn't make sense (check when she puts the furniture on the lawn vs. when Bleeks acknowledges it vs. his track practice in the morning) and an entire scene exists merely to showcase the term "pork swords." That's it. Pork swords. And why can't

I agree. Ditch the looking into the camera, mockumentary moments, but keep the hand held cameras. Done.

Yes, we've decided: he's straight and he's a semi-ladie's man. When you try that often, you're bound to get *some* takers.

LATE NIGHT IS DEAD, SO MOVE IT TO 10 PM.
This could actually be a *brilliant* move. 11:30 is dead, and traditional one-hour shows are flagging and getting canceled left and right, so why not move it to 10?

Yeah, that Ken — he knows lots of numbers.

Yeah, the talking fish is about the ONLY dream sequence moment I ever liked in The Sopranos. God, those got insufferable.

Was this on tv yet?
I didn't think the AV Club posted reviews before airing, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Mad Women: no.

Bickly? Like Chelcie Ross in last week's MM: "Damn, you're a bickly bastard."

@Steve Holt: Travis Bickly in Taxi Driver enjoys a nice slice of apple pie with cheddar cheese on top. As he says in his VO: "I thought that was a good choice." So yeah…psychos dig it.

WILL 30 ROCK HAVE LESS EPISODES THIS SEASON?
Because that would suck hard.

Don launching the puck into the ant farm was hilarious.
The TRUE END of Bert Peterson's reign.

That first line was meant to be a question, btw.

Was that the same actress who did the "twist" in her audition last week. Because that twist was so ridiculous/awesome that she should win an Emmy, no questions asked.

I have the same reaction early on in an episode, even knowing that later I'll realize that a lot happened…but at the time I'm not sure where it's all going or when it's going to really kick in.

Couldn't read Kitty's expression at Sal's "performance?"
It was crystal clear — she just realized her husband is a prancing pony. He's one of those "gays." There's no way a straight man, especially in that era, would have acted like that, and she just realized it.

Not true. They may have been only distributors in the early days, but in the last 5-10 years of their tenure, they and their talented staff often developed their movies from scratch. In the case of Pulp Fiction, they bought it from being in turnaround at Columbia Pics (if I'm not mistaken) AFTER every other studio

As a former employee of Miramax (not salaried, of course)…
I can say I'm pretty happy these guys have been getting bum-raped at the box-office for years. Yes, they made some GREAT films in the past, although it boggles my mind quite HOW in most cases, hearing the first-hand stories about these walking nightmares.
