I've always thought that there was a strong element of Walt having to swallow a lot of pride each time he heard Hank brag about all his DEA exploits and just having his *son* eat them up and obviously admire this much cooler man.

One thing I haven't seen anywhere else: the station that Kirk first reports to, after Pine gives him the recruitment speech, is called "Base 47" (or Area 47 or whatever)
