This new storyline in New Super-Man has been great so far. I recall reading in earlier reviews that people had issues with Luen Yang's pacing in single issues as he comes from a graphic novel background, but so far Training Day has been remarkably paced. The cuts from Kenan training to new Bat-Man at the Academy of

My favorite Lemire work may be The Nobody, his retelling of HG Well's The Invisible Man. Followed by Sweet Tooth. I thought his DC superhero was just OK, so I haven't followed his Marvel output. May have to change that.

That's my regular shop. Was there last night for my weekly wares.

Joey Belladonna of Anthrax does NOT have a "hardcore-inflected growl." In fact, he has the complete opposite. There is nothing neither hardcore nor growly about his voice.

Bunn's superhero stuff is always so mediocre to me, but Sixth Gun and Harrow County are both amazing. This is similar to Lemire and Kindt for me as well. Their creator-owned stuff is so much better than their Big 2 output.

Many of my favorites from the last year were from Dark Horse. Mind MGMT wrapped up wonderfully. Ghost Fleet was awesomely amazing and Harrow County continues to impress in its second arc. In fact, Tyler Crook, the artists on harrow County, also drew the amazing Witchfinder series earlier this year. He's been the best

I didn't want to get involved with the Bat books for the DC relaunch, but it seems I need to check out Batman, huh?

I was blown away by Hawkman. I love the idea of the Nth metal becoming one with Hall (as redundant as that idea sounds in comic stories) It wasn't the "Indiana Jones with sci-fi elements" that was promised but it was pretty fun and set up a nice cast of characters. I agree that Morphicius is a dumb name and the black

"yeah he's such a jerk that he stands up for the working class.  read the
original action comics #1, Superman was doing the same kind of stuff."

Well, I bought 4 DCnU books this week - Action, Animal, Swampy and OMAC and feel quite justifed after reading this overview. Also based on this write-up I'm not missing anything either. I was hoping for a few "hmmm, I'll wait for the trade or for a .99 comixology sale" but nothing to look forward to either.
