I agree. This is my unique take on the issue, not influenced by anyone else whatsoever: Michaels might have thought he was pushing the show forward, or at least
keeping up with the times, by hiring an eclectic cast that included a gay man (Terry
Sweeney), but sticking the gay guy
in a dress to play Nancy Reagan

Yeah, screw the Clemson department of food science. Two movie special-effects guys on basic cable TV have the definitive word.

You are black and I am white

Nurse! The patient is coding! Use the deliberator!

It was just under 90 minutes but the cuts to commercial were not at all smooth. They jumped from mid-scene, and afterward seemed to have left some story behind.

BBC America really chopped this to shreds.

If you met a woman who claims to be an android, dressed as Mary Poppins in a futuristic mausoleum, can you honestly claim that you would remember meeting her in a coffee shop for five minutes a year or two ago?

So, no one but me was sure it was Cameca? Hell hath no fury…

Actually 3W is not a shadowy and ominous agency, but a real, banal department within the British government.

If The Doctor can be a woman, then Wonder Woman can be a man.

As far as I know (and I admit I have not explored the issue in any depth) Georgia Moffett and Tom Baker are not the same person.

OK. But my point was less about the who and more about the what.

I don't have a position in the time-lord gender-switching debate, but I can't back your argument here. By the standard that women and men differ by only one chromosome,Tom Baker and Peter Davison differ by none.

Especially if when you met her again she was wearing a Mary Poppins costume, in a futuristic mausoleum, and claiming to be an android.

Not so much a "new meaning," really. In interviews RTD took great pride that he got away with putting a slangy gay culture joke into Doctor Who.

And with 869 total comments, the percentage now rounds up to 2%.

Let me get back to you on that. I'm going to start counting. 1) Nicola Bryant's cleavage…
