Homer's Face-Pin
It took me a while to realize where I recognized that inverted Homer-Face from:

I love that Jack had Bon Jovi there specifically to pull Don Rickles' infamous "Not now, Frank" gag.

A little more time in the story development development?
I don't know if that story could stand any more development time. I saw it on WKRP over 30 years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was on the Odd Couple before that.
Now that I think of it, I believe there's an ancient cave painting in Spain that depicts Firewatcher

12 and out?
I've been a huge fan of this series but I have to admit I did not enjoy "Investigative Journalism". The shift in tone and quality from the previous 12 episodes tends to support a theory I have about this show. The first 12 episodes were not only very well done, but they built to a very satisfying

Now that you mention it (sort of), John C. Reilly would be an interesting choice, though I don't agree with you about William Hurt from Accidental Tourist.
(P.S. to nonentity: What kind of life do you lead where you're more familiar with the stage version of "Chicago" than the movie, but don't avail yourself of IMDB

Leonard's father is a big missing piece of the puzzle, and the revelation that he recently ran off with "a waitress!" is certainly a set-up for an upcoming story.
I've been wondering about who would play his dad as well. Eugene Levy would indeed be a good choice, though I have to admit John Goodman may be destined to

Gee. I wonder if there is a good recent book on the topic.

Finally. A movie that makes full use of the 18 fps feature on my Blu-Ray player.
Now I just need to find a 360 hz plasma.

I had a similar reaction to seeing Leonard and Raj laugh at the prank, though it didn't put me off the whole episode.
And Dr. Handsome, honestly, if my best friend was being humiliated on the radio, and I was in the same building, I'd do something about it.
I'm not the kind of best friend you deserve.

Finally something to say
This episode was a huge improvement if only because it finally found something interesting to say about the whole flashforward phenomenon. We've had months of people dreading their premonitinos, enthusing about their premonitions, angsting about their lack of premonitions, and most of it was

History is not fuzzy
A fairly comprehensive account of William Castle's "Fright Break" promotion is available in "Crackpot: The Obsessions of John Waters".
If the AV Club does not have a copy of this book, you need to go get it right now.

It is to the episode's credit
I was dreading a lengthy evening of sadly unfunny re-eactments of Kanye-gate, so absolutely let's give them credit for that.
Now they just need to show the same discretion about sadly unfunny re-enactments of everything else they see on TV.

I can't say I enjoyed the first 20 years of hearing people say they thought "The Simpsons" was past its prime. I'm not looking forward to the next 20.

If you insist on grading segments within individual episodes, I don't think the AV Club grading system is ever going to catch up to you.

Your work is derivative and your methods questionable.

Lenny and Penny
I finally discovered the show last summer, and my wife and I spent the last two weeks catching up to Seasons One and Two on DVD.
When you watch them all in a row like that, Galecki's character, and the entire Leonard and Penny relationship, actually makes a bit more sense.
Leonard is an emotionally

Greenaway is the kind of guy who likes to haughtily berate the audience for not appreciating beauty in art enough, and then smear shit on things to mock them for appreciating beauty in art.
I haven't seen "Nightwatching", but when Keith says this is Greenaway's most straightforward film, I interpret that to mean that

So does this mean you're going to die on September 13?

Evel Knievel and dental hygiene
My clearest memory of the Knievel era was a commercial for a fairly esoteric piece of merchandise. It was an electric toothbrush modeled on his "Skycycle", the rocket in which Knievel unsuccessfully attempted to leap the Snake River Canyon in 1974.
The only reason I remember it is that
