Yeah, I was thinking they might go down the Preacher route early this season when they first introduced God as "missing" down on earth. Now after this episode I think they'll focus more on a "the boys find strength in themselves to beat the apocalypse" kind of thing.

when I first saw feral Claire, I was REALLY worried because I foresaw some horrible horrible acting…

Great summary of Topher. As far as I know there's not too many characters like him around… and if there are I doubt their descent into remorse fueled madness are as well acted as Fran's.

I'm still of the mind that Dollhouse greatly benefited from a shortened life span. Though I definitely would have liked to see S1 - the growing awareness of Echo, S2 - the fight against Rossum, S3 - the apocalypse.

in an episode filled with some emotional scenes (Echo's big breakdown over Paul, Anthony's introduction to his son) it was Topher's quiet "I didn't want to cause any more pain" that really got to me

"Why not either let the guy kill her… or do it himself"

Holy crap I feel like a moron for not catching that. Especially with all the other Dollhouse phrases used in the flashbacks.

They've got one episode to resolve the present day scenario, they're not going to have time to refute Boyd as the Big Bad and set another up. Even the reveal of Boyd is a little late in the game.

I hadn't thought of it like that. Here's hoping we get present day resolution then future resolution.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. I don't believe Bennett knew why they were resurrecting Caroline (other than saving the world), and why would she need to change that memory.

Could you elaborate on any "private time" scenes with Boyd? In fact I remember mostly Adelle commenting that he doesn't seem to HAVE a private life, that he spends all his time at the Dollhouse focusing on Echo.

I think I could handle a dual missions of the week+mythology structure if the missions weren't generally so formulaic.

New credit sequence
Anyone else disappointed that the new credit sequence didn't acknowledge the ensemble-ness of the show?

I wanted to applaud the show at the end the Topher/Saunders exchange… especially that last line "Don't flatter yourself."

definitely a fan of Angel's intro music, especially as he kicks in that door.

Definitely count me among those that prefer Angel over Buffy (though, that's more like saying I prefer $100,000 over $75,000). From the amazing Wesley arc that spans the entire show, to the brave and incredibly compelling season 4, and the dark and interesting pathos of season 2.
