This is kind of what I said before, but do you think that it reads that way because of her genre and mainstream exposure? Would people be saying this if she were a country star or a traditional rock star singing about abusive behavior? I honestly think that's the case.

I often feel like if Rihanna weren't the mass-marketed megastar she is that we'd all be a lot more sympathetic to her self-destructive tendencies and willingness to put that naked ugliness in her music. Granted, she's not even writing these songs yet (my major complaint, as I actually think the Mother Mary song could

I dunno. Seems kinda weird to hate on Cher. It's Cher.

Ditto. I just spent 10 minutes trying to remember my password just so I could log in on my work computer and give this thing a proper grade.
I know all shows grade against themselves, but this was without a doubt the best episode yet, except maybe the episode before it.

Needs more Lucy Liu. I don't know, I think a lot about this show works on the surface but I'm not finding enough distinctive after 3 episodes to make this appointment television yet. I'm a little disappointed by how typical it has felt and how there's little indication that anything outside of the case of the week

I kind of got the impression that the first album was more label manufacturing than her ever really wanting to do R&B though. She immediately seemed more comfortable when she switched to the Linda Perry second album. I think they heard "black voice" and forced her into something that I won't hold against her.
That

It's kind of funny that when I was a 6th grader in 2000, I used to get picked on by other boys for liking "girl music" like Aaliyah and TLC. In hindsight, all of them were listening to stuff like "Last Resort" and Korn. I'm glad I stood my ground

2 Broke Girls sets feel like ones the first season of Sesame Street thought were too cartoony.

I would have liked it more if Ellen had just gone into a less ruthless form of law rather than abandon it entirely.
