Carrie Bradshaw's apartment always seemed a lot more egregious considering she was a shitty columnist and a paper no one read and routinely bought pairs of shoes that would cost as much as a rent check. That show seemed to try to reflect NYC life more than Friends which is maybe why it bugged me there but never on

Going along with the anti-intellectualism, the show also had way too many jokes about proper masculinity, although I guess that was part of what made Chandler tick.

Not as good as Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.

I was looking for a thread with an excuse to post this quote and then I found this. Why is that line so funny? I honestly think about it whenever I offer people gum.

Call me a sap, but I think Phoebe having to realize that she doesn't get to actually raise any of the children she carried is the emotional highlight of the series. Kudrow is by far the best actor of the six and that scene always gets me.

The thing with Ross turning crazy is that Schwimmer was freaking great at it. Sure, it was probably sitcom writing laziness, but he went at everything with such gusto after the Emily split that I couldn't help but love every second of it. If you're going to go broad near the end of the show, you might as well go big.

To this day, if someone orders two pizzas, there's bound to be someone in my group of friends that yells out "The Joey Special!"

Sometimes I think Phoebe aggressively hated everyone and just associated with them as some type of weird insane person's game.
I loved Phoebe.
(Meanwhile, that relative plot line was recycled to a much better effect when Ross couldn't let it go that he didn't believe Phoebe's mom was reincarnated in a cat.)

I think that episode is the perfect example of a well done bottle episode. It should be taught in writing classes.
