FLAG ENABLER

Great news! Dad wasn't crushed to death!

I'll watch Miller, CN, if you'll watch Lebowski again. It almost demands a second watching, since (at least for me) I was too caught up with the meaningless plot the first time to catch all the funny stuff.

Wasn't it released in 2000? If so, then it's off the list altogether.

Mr. Death? Probably not — the '90s weren't Morris' best decade — but I'm faintly surprised it hasn't appeared yet.

Conjecture: Because #1 is Goodfellas, as it should be. Even if I've seen The Big Lebowski dozens more times.

The Coens have hit their peak a lot. I'd put No Country and A Serious Man at about the same level as the four listed here (minus Miller's Crossing, which I haven't seen). I think after a certain point the question of "best Coen film" is basically a question of taste.

Ed Wood, Heavenly Creatures, T2, Trainspotting, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Matrix, Fight Club, Crumb, Fargo, Lebowski, Groundhog Day, Barton Fink.

I'd make the analogy that Kierkegaard:existentialism :: Neil Young:grunge. There are very clear parallels and influences, but Neil Young isn't really a grunge musician, and Kierkegaard isn't really an existentialist (in its 20th-century form).
