I have a shameful love of those Knorr rice packs that I picked up in college as a staple of my poor kid diet. Going to have to start calling them CancerPaks to try to ween myself off of them. But I god I love that sodium/artificial flavor blast.

I used to eat the crap out of brand-name spaghetti o's with meatballs as a kid. But then one day I made myself a big old bowl and started eating and suddenly the sauce seemed to have a bitter, vomity stomach-biley after taste to me. I threw that bowl out and never ate spaghetti o's again.

I have a punishing love/hate relationship with Popeye's spicy chicken strips. I love to eat them but my digestive track violently rejects them. I still will go to Popeye's about once every one or two months and get a box of those and just go to town and spend the next day regretting it.Why do I have to live in

Man, my boyfriend buys Nutella by the boatful. He started by eating it on wheat bread for breakfast. Now he eats it mostly late at night by the spoonful. I'm worried he'll be mainlining it soon.

One of my favorite post-Katrina books is 1 Dead in Attic by Chris Rose. He was a columnist and lifestyles writer for the Times-Pic during Katrina and through his column he explored a lot of immediate issues after Katrina, along with the decline of his own mental health watching the city struggle and be destroyed. The

When I was 16 and my sister was 14, we were going through a pretty intense Kevin Smith phase and my sister asked for Dogma for Christmas. We were visiting my aunt and uncle in Minnesota who were both super Catholic. My uncle asked us about the movie and we kind of evasively described it as a religious comedy. We were

I live in Louisiana and never saw Faygo in stores until I got deep into Redneck Mississippi. But then again, we have our own regional fruity diabetic coma soda brand called Big Shot.

There was actually a campaign in Louisiana to encourage interest in eating nutria, as state officials were desperately trying to find a way to get more people interested in hunting nutria because they were killing hundreds of thousands of acres of wetlands a year. They hired famous chefs to come up with nutria recipes

I moved from Texas to south Louisiana 5 years ago and when I got here I could only understand about 50-70 percent of what some people said. And that was less than a day's drive from where I grew up.
