I think this is two thirds of an awesome revisionist vampire movie. Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Sanchez from Aliens roaming around the Southwest in a blacked out van, draining the honky tonks of their blood by night. Bill Paxton goes on a murder spree to "Fever" by the Cramps! It's pretty great!

No Nick Cave anywhere on these lists? Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus and Dig Lazarus Dig!!! have been two of the man's best albums in his career, and when his career is littered with such great work, there's no way it doesn't make it onto a best-of decade list.

I don't think any survey of country music would be complete without saying at least SOMETHING about Gram Parsons. It was because of this fella that I was able to find what I liked in country music, introducing me to the likes of the Louvin Brothers among others.
