The 2nd series of Grandma's House was a real step up in quality I think. I think it is very well written actually but it is the performances that take it to another level.

I would go as far as to say that Armando Iannucci is the most important force in British comedy of the past 20 years. He's involved in this, Partridge, On The Hour, The Day Today and Time Trumpet amongst so much more. The Armando Iannucci Show is also horribly underrated and the best sketch show that's ever been on TV…

Glad Glasgow looked nice. It could be easy enough to make it look bad but it's a beautiful city in large parts.

Pretty sure he does. Same with Mark Millar.

Ah yes, of course it is. Did they not play some shows recently?
I bought the first album partly because it got 0/10 in Select. It's brilliant. 12 Reasons is the best thing on there but there's few weak moments.
Just said this somewhere else. Had an incredible run of singles from that first album.
And if you just want a glood pop song with a catchy chorus then you can do much worse than Shed Seven.
I sold mine to my sister. Nice cover mind you.
And I may have bought the best of Shed Seven on eBay the other week. There's some great chorusses in there!
I'm not too happy about The Longpigs being lumoped in with all those bands. Lost Myself, She Said, Far & On and On is a pretty solid first four tracks / bunch of singles.
I'd never have stuck Teenage Fanclub in with britpop. I'd certainly say they didn't make a conscious effort to fit in with the scene.
He says while listening to Gerry Loves new project, Lightships.
There was a period where I swear Mark n Lard played Single Girl every night for 3 months or so. Happy days.
I think Britpop being so popular as it was allowed The Divine Comedy to become as reasonably successful as they were but I don't know that ever really were Britpop. Casanova probably flirted with it a little.
Also, Neil was from N Ireland and lived in London so the pretend 'Ir-pop' argument doesn't really work.
Olivia Colman gave the best performance of anyone last year in that. Not happy she hasn't even made the shortlist. Probably because a lot of the voters didn't even bother watching it.
The third was my favourite as well. I thought the other two were more interesting in many ways but I think the last one hung together far better as a whole.
And, yes, The Fades starts to get really good after episode 3 or so. They did all sorts of things I really wasn't expecting.
The second RS album was pretty good. They were good as a live band too with the 2 drum kits.
I don't think anybody really thought that Snow Patrol were going to be the band that really broke from the Glasgow music scene 10 years ago or so though. Maybe because the injustice of that is slightly unbearable.
TIE '88 gets better with every episode so you should definitely make an effort for it. Apparently we're getting a more upbeat '90 as well and then that's it.
