I always wondered what brought Grand Royal down. They also had Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World, another pretty big critical/commercial success.

If he is his glasses are only 50% correct.

Given the fact that Hannibal is one of the most beautifully shot TV series of all time, I'm going to reserve judgment for now. But yeah. What a weird choice of an image to introduce people to this show.

After the tour de force we call Walk Hard, it's a minor sin to not mention when John C. Reilly is in a film.

I really loved the episode with Judy Greer. The one this week with Hampton Yount (most famous for being cast in the MST3K reboot) was pretty funny too, though he got a bit steamrolled by Jordan and Jesse at times.

I recently discovered Jordan Jesse Go, which is just fantastic. Their interview style is completely informal and directionless and it always just feels like a bunch of really hilarious people hanging out, cracking jokes and telling great stories. It reminds me a bit of Comedy Bang Bang but without the improv thrown in.

With Special Guest is hit or miss, but when it's good it's so damn good. The one with Claudia O'Doherty is my current favorite, though the Mantzoukas one from a few weeks ago was great in a surprisingly understated way.

I appreciated Paul's mention of getting lost because of store redundancy issues. I had a similar problem when I told a friend to meet me by the American Eagle and they were at the wrong one.

Yeah, there's one really good song on that one ("New Energy") but the rest is kind of meh.

And future members of Minus the Bear!

Did you ever hear A Day in Black and White? They got some knocks for being a City of Caterpillar knock off but I thought they were pretty great. I also remember being pretty blown away by a band called Querencia but they formed, released an EP and broke up in the span of what seemed like months.

I got into this type of music right around the time A Retrospective was released. I still remember how bummed I was when City of Caterpillar broke up.

Upvoted for mention of Moss Icon. Lyburnum's a classic.

Love this band. I used to be obsessed with Level-Plane growing up and spent pretty much any money I got ordering records from their distro and especially loved Saetia and Hot Cross. Also the intro to "Venus and Bacchus" is incredibly fun to play.

From Star Trek?

"….made the distinction that she’s just a person and not a hero for having survived cancer."

I'd argue T.J. Miller's performance is pretty outstanding. Tobolowsky's run as a guest star was pretty great too.

Man, now I really want to see a shouting match between Erlich and Selena.

"I've only ever called one man a coward, and that's Brian Doyle Murray."

"Is this one of those ridiculous reality shows like Ken Burns' Jazz?"
