I completely agree about the RTD and Moffat comparison…good way of putting it. For me, Moffat is willing to play with elemental fantasy and folkloric tropes which have a much longer shelf life and sci-fi bombast…

You definitely can start on Series 5 with the new Doctor from the mad creative brain of Steven Moffat.

The scene where the human gives his blessing to the Ganger is, I believe, a reference to "Frankenstein" where the creator give a deathbed blessing to his creation. Quite a nice spot of writing, though I think I like this episode for its ideas more than its writing. And lets be honest - in the hands of RTD this episode…
