Many of these books mentioned are already being adapted (a few of them as features; i.e In the Woods, Aces) or have already been developed / passed on.  A lot of these titles are also difficult to produce - high budgets, rights unavailable, etc.  Interesting that so many of these suggestions are high-concept genre

There's nothing wrong with making a show about four white friends.  Just don't market it as a show that claims to represent the "voice of our generation."  HBO's problem with Girl's is akin to AMC's lametastic excuse for "The Killing" backlash: "It was the marketing!"

I love that the critics who are pushing back on the backlash don't seem to connect or comprehend what some of the underlying issues of the series are.

The characters in "Girls" are not people I would ever want to hang out with on a daily basis in the fictional or real world.

Having seen both Veep and #whitegirlproblems, I mean, Girls, i feel that Veep is the best new comedy of the season. Girls is 2012's Garden State.

Loved It
I went into the pilot cautiously optimistic and left mightily impressed. What sold me was the writing - the structure of the pilot is just brilliant. I loved the way that Warren Leight returned to prior scenes to show what really happened (i.e the conversation with the daughter at the ice cream parlor,

Agreed. Both are pretty overrated - although the former more so than the latter.

Coach was OBVIOUSLY cooking up Tinker's pig.

I thought that the Julie storyline, while a bit contrived, paid off well with the look Tami gives, clearly intimating that she realizes that something is amiss in her daughter. I live for these kinds of FNL moments.

Oddly enough, Jamie, Jennifer, and Casey are my top favorites.

D'Alessio Bros
Anyone else feeling the complete lack of tension normally found in a penultimate episode?

It was edited down from "I am the sum of all the experiences I have had thus far in my life. #Imwhattimeandcircumstancehavemademe"

Don't call it that.

What this show needs is more shots of books being read by characters.

Alan Sepinwall mentions this in his recap. Hugh DeAngelis

Anyone else think that "Boardwalk Empire" seems to rely on montages in the way that "The Sopranos" relied on dream sequences? And not in a good way either…

See: "The Godfather"

Anyone else notice the oranges foreshadowing Pearl's death?

What Nonsense…

Spoiler Alert
"The Event" is the new "Heroes."
