It was The Gap.
It was The Gap.
He doesn't like you.
Are Star Wars villains pervy? I never noticed.
He was just referring to the best boy.
Yeah my comment was poorly worded. I meant to say all of the negative things people post about this show are regarding the poor writing of women, not most in general.
Might go the dog route?
Oooh, I like that idea.
SWINTON!
*ouch*
Maybe the opinions will change once they reveal in the final episode that Marty and Rust are really women in drag. Oops, SPOILERS!
I wouldn't say "absolutely no one". Seriously, read some of the AV Club comments - the fact that anyone would complain about how the women on TD aren't well rounded and are there only to serve the main characters seem to expect a check list of a sort. In other words, it's not acceptable to them that the show focuses…
You can also put your stuff on the internet. Networks and studios are no longer the only outlets.
At the end of the day, they are running a business. The flaw is, I think, in their metrics - we need to ditch the Nielsen boxes and really look at EVERYONE who is watching these shows. I'd bet a lot more would be green lit.
But over time, it does change, as the old guard retires in media and so forth.
Comments on True Detective on AV Club. It's not the only thing I'm hearing about the show - poorly worded on my part - it's the only negative thing I'm hearing, and it keeps coming up.
See my response to boner below - I'm seeing a lot of vitriol toward the writer. I too think it's worth a larger discussion.
That's a valid complaint. All I'm hearing about this show is how the writer is doing such a terrible job with women, rather than "I wish TV execs would take more chances".
I hate the idea of entertainment having to check off a list of acceptable subject matter and storytelling methods, rather than it just being about whatever the hell the creators want it to be about in whichever manner they wish to tell it. They say the mother of necessity is invention. If anyone feels so strongly…
Not just exists - but is commercially successful and recognized!
This pacman johns is too elitist - I can't have a beer with him.
