That's the problem with reading his tone here — that stuff is widely accepted to be genuinely boring. And it's hard to tell whether he is ascribing the point of view to the editor or just referring to it in common parlance — he imagines dialogue from the editor, but doesn't include "boring" as part of the dialogue.

I get what you mean, that you don't want to own it, but it's kind of funny since I presumably the laws for selling it are worse than the laws for owning it.

I believe that technically any pornography with aroused genetalia is "hardcore", but it generally means there will be penetration of some kind.

That happens in the text, yes, but it is also explained somewhere in the comic (after the fact), isn't it?

I like the idea of Jeeves & Wooster vs. Cthulhu, but I didn't get anything extra from actually reading it instead of just imagining it myself.

Try the fourth book of Tom Strong; the first thing in it is a three-issue story by Moore, probably the best Tom Strong story. The series gets off to a slow start, and once Moore stops writing it, it becomes harder to recommend entirely, but there's a lot of good stuff, especially in book 2 & 3.

My understanding was that they had a bass player off-stage for at least some songs live too.

I mean, in theory, camera movement does more than just establish stuff, but honestly, as far as "Star Trek" is concerned, I'm pretty sure the camera mostly moves for either establishing shots or "THE SHIP IS SHAKING" shots.

I bought it when I was 17 because I had the greatest hits album that didn't have Bohemian Rhapsody, and it was the other song I knew, and, yeah, I'm glad it was that one.

That's what I think about "Good Times Are Now".

Finally, somebody who gets Queen!

They also tacked it onto CD printings of the relevant Bowie album (Let's Dance, I would think).

Not true, 'Observe and Report' also used "It's Late" quite well.

The gypsies had no homes… the Doors had no bass… don't let that scare you, let that free you! Let that liberate you!

I'll go to bat for "I Was Born To Love You", I think that can hold its head up high next to almost any track in their whole catalog.

I kind of doubt that Melville *didn't* have an editor.

His parents took it to heart.

Wait, he did that for a reason that *wasn't* to alienate readers?

My high school teacher abridged it himself. I will always remember him saying "You can skip this chapter entirely unless you're interested in the detailed history of how they made hemp into rope."

I think that is the intended implication, but the problem is that he actually calls the parts that the editor would want to cut "boring".
