The show is so focused on process. Unlike a show where you’re cooking or
doing photography or modeling, the designers literally have to be in
that workroom working on those clothes.

I hate to see people who seem like basically good sorts beat down week after week, so I'm happy Patty got some kind words for once. And she looks good with her hair down. On the flip side, Michael seems to get cockier and more condescending with every passing episode, which is really something when you consider that

If you think I'm excitable now, just wait for The Golden Girls.

Wait, have we gotten to Messalina's….contest yet? Because the lady who played Cilla was awesome.

The guy sitting next to me at Gravity had popcorn, chicken strips, a full plate of nachos, and I could almost swear I smelled fish sticks. So I missed all the pre-show ads because I was too busy gaping at a guy that essentially brought a Shoney's buffet into the theater.

Oh my God, he posts on World Net Daily. Hahaha! Good thing he never has to put up with anything self-righteous over there.

Comparing a team to the Yankees is basically just Godwin's Law in sportsese.

Yes, that final scene with Antonia was amazing! But what really springs to memory from this set of episodes is the whole Livilla thing. I saw I, Claudius long before I saw Rocky Horror, and that scene is the #1 reason I will always associate Patricia Quinn with Livilla first.

In another, Nick Fauchald discusses his independent publishing company’s line of hand-bound (in cooking twine) cookbooks, each edition focusing on a specific
ingredient.

I always saw Wolverine as being boring, while The Last Stand was actively bad. But I agree that boring can sometimes be considered a worse crime; at least I remember scenes in The Last Stand.

Oh, and that final conversation between Claudius and Livia is one of the best scenes in television history, and I am not exaggerating.

Herod may have not been the best guy in the world, but he was entirely correct about Claudius' ability to survive by at least purporting to be flexible. Agrippina was a strong woman, but if she could have kept her trap shut or pretended to go along with whatever Livia was doing, she (and her sons) would have lasted a

Tinkerbell is like the annoying coworker who sends you a tuna casserole recipe you never asked for, and then gets mad when you don't bring one to the office potluck.  Regina never sought out her help, nor made any promises.  And then Tink acts surprised that the woman who consistently wishes out loud for her

Yup, my AV Club name and my Other Disqus name (Gameological, Dissolve, etc.) are going to have some sort of nightmarish throwdown, I'm sure.

……….what?

That's a shame.  I went and saw a production of A Little Night Music, even though I kind of dislike it, just because Sian Phillips was in it.  I, Claudius had a big effect on me.

Faaahn.  You have your laaaame conversations about AT.  I'm gonna be doing somethin' cooool over herre, like, oh yah.  I'm having a fun time.

All Julia ever wanted was to be a good mother and to bang a lot of dudes.  Poor woman.  And I completely agree that Livia's scenes with Plautius were great - his naked terror at what she might say was palpable.

Don't forget Colleen Caviello and her goddamn ziti.
