Yup, that "Renaissance Adventure" introduction was the final push I needed to unsubscribe from Stuff You Missed in History Class.  I've moved on to BackStory for my history podcasting needs, and though I've only heard about four or five episodes so far, it's a lot more in-depth and thoughtful.

@Autech - Yeah, it's a tough balance, but I still would rather read about podcasts I'm unaware of that I might find interesting once I delve into them over the same fifteen casts with the same forty guests in an ever-revolving circle.

I'm not sure about the AV Club demographic's podcast tastes as a whole, but I'd flip the Podmass column and make it mostly outliers, with a few blurbs at the bottom about which "regular" podcasts really struck a chord that week.  I've discovered some really excellent podcasts via that column, but all of them have come
