I agree. Spielberg manipulated the audience's feelings with Jaws and we loved it, only that feeling was fear. Maybe some people aren't comfortable with feeling certain other emotions?

I tried to register but I've been out of the country over 15 years. To a certain extent it is on me cos I haven't voted in previous elections and wasn't registered. OTOH, I don't see why we were excluded, and the information available was confusing and contradictory.

Uh, maybe, whatever. I'm just dismayed by this as I'm a British citizen living and working in the EU who was denied a say in this referendum and who is not best pleased. We already have a reputation as arrogant wankers and this is not going to help

Not necessarily. This is a non-binding referendum, with a big enough demographic split to justify holding off on taking such a drastic step. I'd be happy to eat humble pie if our European neighbors baked it
