Mon dieu! There are so many hilarious French comedies mon ami. 'Le Placard' (The Closet) with Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Autiuil, or 'Tanguy', which is absolutely makes-you-laugh. It may not seem so, but those French have a sense of humour. Plus they're films which actually treat the viewer as an adult-nice touch.

That explains all those "but-he-seemed-so-happy" suicide stories
