Cronenberg is one of my very favorites and Cosmopolis is my favorite overall film of his in a decade. That it probably won't make my top 10 is an indication of how good this year was for movies.

Looper certainly had a tighter screenplay and better performances, but few movies this year matched Prometheus in terms of sheer cinematic value.

So good to see love for Take This Waltz. That amusement ride scene set to The Buggles might be my favorite moment of any film this year.

I started mainly by listening to the episodes for films I was already familiar with (Pippi Longstocking, Deep Impact, Boys & Girls, The Skulls), then moving on to the more obscure favorites (Gymkata, Hider in the House, I Come in Peace)

Yeah, in trying to figure out why I spent comparatively little time in 2012 listening to new music, I realized that the time usually spent listening to music (at work, on my commute, doing chores, etc) has been occupied by podcasts.

I worked at Macy's during the holiday season a few years ago and had this experience. You eventually learn to like it simply as a survival mechanism. It's like holiday Stockholm syndrome.

November was a strong month for the show, but the Gramercy episode from this week was fantastic, best all around ep since the Hamm/Rudd/Mulaney show at the same venue.
