I love love LOVE that you brought up The Grown-Ups.  Watching January Jones pretend-cry over the Kennedy assassination was so absurd that it trivialized any lingering expression of grief that I have heard from my father and grandmother.

One of the main problems with this show is that Ryan Hardy undermines the stakes by standing to one side with his mouth open, relinquishing control of every situation.  Each episode, he watches in dumb amazement as some character is put in terrible danger, and then makes sure to say out loud to whatever gullible third…
