It says something of the quality of Humbug that it's hard to grumble about the awful Leonard puppet creature that looks like a reject from a Charles Band movie.

I'm looking forward to a good dose of Donna's grandad Wilf (at least in the 1st episode). It was a stroke of genius casting Bernard Cribbens, who is never less than superb.

Acorah is well-known fraud over 'ere - just type 'kreed kafer' into Google for a whole stack of websites dedicated to just what a Uri Geller he is.

I found Ringu to be a smidge boring if I'm honest but when she comes out of the TV at the end…holy cow. The Ring was the opposite - better paced and with more chills throughout, but the TV scene was terrible. Samara was made too effects-y for my liking.
