I thought the resolution was pretty unsatisfying. Bill's faith in the Doctor got her into this predicament but she gets back out of it unscathed. Also I didn't really like the Doctor's comments about Bill making it worthwhile to put up with everyone else unless it turns out to be part of an arc where the Doctor is

I never minded that bit with Clara and the keys. It rang far truer that someone who just lost someone important to them would try that sort of thing than say Amy and Rory's too-quick acceptance baby Melody was permanently lost to them.

Another frustrating end to a multi-episode arc. I thought the Monks had the potential to be an interesting villain but we didn't really get anything further on that score. It seems like a lot of trouble to get a less powerful planet to view you as gods and then the fact they went to these lengths to seize power and

I like Turlough but the companion line that made me laugh most might have been Nyssa's "Isn't there anything I can do?" from "The Visitation".

The last line of that definitely sounds like a perfume ad ;-)

Plus a lot of countries have legal systems that acknowledge "consent" given under duress is no consent at all. "We need pure consent (but you'll all die if you don't give it)"

Their idea of "pure consent" is a bit mad because thankfully a lot of places acknowledge you can't give consent to something if you are under duress and/or your life is being threatened.

I think that's more of a Torchwood thing ;-)

I presume it's kept next to The Mind Probe.

The Monks are messed up.

Nah mate, it's clearly the Rani…..

The Death Beam! (did we get a name for it?)

Yeah if this had been a well-run private sector lab they wouldn't be cutting corners and they would have made a massive profit. Oh wait- ;-)

I'm not sure I agree that 10 and 11 were humble. 10 in particular was barely containing his hubris and god complex by the end ;-)

With 3) I don't think she looked like a moron. It's pretty clear that some of the Doctor's plans are improvised and he flies by the seat of his pants so it makes sense she got worried with the threat still present (the Monks) and time counting down to when that bomb went off. And if the Doctor gets blown up who will

Actually I would say Bill's faith in the Doctor here is similar to that of Amy's in "The God Complex".

The Master can be permanently killed and just turn back up later without much chat about it ;-)

In the classic series he's nearly executed on Gallifrey a couple of times so you have to presume they would be killing the Doctor for good rather than just triggering the next regeneration.

I wasn't pissed off, I think they could do more storylines where the companion doesn't agree with the Doctor on something major and actually does something about it. It doesn't have to be all the time but it's a relatively fresh story angle.

I'm not sure Bill and the Doctor have had the regeneration talk yet though. I wouldn't swear to that because I've only watched the episodes once but I'm not sure she knows about it.
