I wouldn't call my gut reaction to the idea any sort of reading so much as my gut reaction to the idea. People are free to do this if they want, personally it would not be something I would do because I wouldn't be happy or comfortable with it.

I have a really limited knowledge of what that course would contain but even so you've shown tenacity, demonstrated passion for something and I presume you've had to do a lot of hard work that required considerable attention to detail.

From everything you've written, it sounds to me like there are some significant problems with trying to reach out to this person.

I liked it the first time I read it but the times after that, it was part of a 3,000 word essay for my English degree and unfortunately now I can't imagine voluntarily re-reading it ;-)

Well as a woman, this sounds like something I would never ever be comfortable with. Also it seems to me like it is the man's fetish but the woman in the question gets to run a lot of the risks. Bleurgh.

Have you applied for graduate jobs and programmes for roles that don't require a specific qualification? Also what is the subject if you don't mind me asking? It's hard to suggest things without knowing.
