1. Ross is awful. I hate hate hated him.
2. I liked how LaGuerta was the only one who pronounced Angel as Anhel so she had that going for her.
3. Marisol Nichols-did she play Nadia in 24?
Wow, respect. That is a hell of a lot of episodes.
If they were to do that, they'd also be well-advised to make them all 18+ and set it at a prestigious university or something. Which would also give it more stakes.
I cannot give this my stamp of approval ;-)
I don't get the appeal of this as a TV show. Either most of them get softened or you'd just be watching a bunch of unpleasant people scheming.
I thought the storyline was compelling because we've probably all said something about how we hate work or have a problem with a family member or friend that we never raised in "real life" that would cause trouble if traced directly back to us.
I really loved this episode. I like this theme about easy nostalgia being dangerous (the past was better because of [reductive reason]) and lazy in a way that impedes progress. Also the whole internet history tracing thing makes me think of Queen Elizabeth I saying she didn't wish to make windows into men's hearts and…
It's been that way for ages. There will be a news story from the previous day at the top but they seem to like to get Podmass as far down the page as fast as possible.
Thanks for recommending the Worst Bestsellers podcast to me MLA.
Yeah I felt the same way. I don't know if he was wanting to be high energy or he genuinely finds Andy that hilarious but dry jokes are not well-served by someone laughing loudly and longly at them.
I'll summon him on this most witchy of days :-)
They seem to be like creating a successful website. You need to build an audience and then get money by advertising or live shows or selling stuff (I don't have it in me to refer to it as "merch").
I think people will inevitably review things they spend time on regardless of whether they are free or not. However I can see why podcasters get sensitive about it. Most podcasters put a lot of themselves into these projects so naturally a lot of the criticism is going to feel personal to them.
So is Seeso a newish US streaming service then?
The latest episode of the Bugle 4002 came out yesterday and Andy finally got to address the whole Brexit thing. I liked Nish as a co-host but I could have used less loud laughing at Andy's fairly dry jokes ;-)
Not all the episodes slate the books though. Sometimes they find good points in them despite other flaws like bad writing, poor plotting or characters that are just a bit off. Also I don't know when you listened to the audiobooks but sometimes if you go back to stuff you heard/read as a kid/teenager it doesn't hold up…
My week has been all about Maron (the show) and the Worst Bestsellers podcast which I'm still loving. I like the episodes when a book hits the trifecta of being badly written, chock full of troubling attitudes and really long.
Is Take My Wife a Netflix show?
Because I went to a terrible terrible sixth-form college, we had the drama tutor taking our psychology classes. About our fourth or fifth study was one about Good Samaritanism and the introduction to this chapter was about diffusion of responsibility and how no-one had Kitty Genovese so she got murdered.
