Good luck for doing something else if you haven't found something else already.

I liked Angel best. I think it gets the way most people have to make unpalatable compromises in a way the rest of Whedon's oeuvre doesn't.
I liked S5 because it felt like a continuation of what Buffy tried to do. What happens when you sell out and try to fight the system from within?
I liked Joy but I thought the structure of the film was off.
I have not and I'm politely sceptical one writer can solve all the contradictions of humanity ;-)
I think it's as simple as powerful people being corrupted by it and believing they are untouchable. How often do you think Trump has heard the word No in his entire life and it's stuck?
Why wasn't he done when he wanted to indiscriminately ban all Muslims and intern them?
[footage seldom found]*
No, no amount of surveillance will give some people a moral compass. The powerful would still be able to create spaces in a total police state to do what they wanted (they always have).
It's very disturbing that they allowed testimony about the sexual history of the complainant. Consenting to past sex acts doesn't mean you consent to future ones with different people.
What you see you over and over again is that if people have power and there's no oversight and they perceive they can get away with anything, a disturbing percentage of people seem to try and get away with anything.
I think the following would help:
1. Education on consent
2. Move further away from shaming women for enjoying sex/having sex because it plays into this sick mindset of victim blaming where there's often some unpleasant debate on whether the victim deserved it. (They didn't and there's no legal basis for this shit).

"If men respect you and like you, then you're protected by the system.
You'll never be raped. Men won't rape a woman they respect."
I would lay money down that the friend either works somewhere or has relatives who say sexist stuff all the time and she tells herself it's a joke.
Cool I never knew that ;-)
So you can still make pagers work? ;-)
If you are managing not to return fire along the lines of "I guess all that experience didn't help you attract someone your own age ten years ago, huh?" then kudos.
When we were in school, our 14 year old friend met somebody who was 23 or 24. Looking back, now they would hopefully lock him up for grooming.
"A woman has had her naked photos posted all over AdultFriendFinder
without her knowledge or consent, probably posted by an ex. She is very
distraught, and rightfully so. How can she move past this?"
My feeling is that if you commit a crime against someone you should face charges in a court. If an individual has broken laws it shouldn't come down to them to decide their sentence/punishment at a time of their choosing.
