I dunno
Granted that big dick thing comes out left field and has seemingly no bearing on the rest of series but… I dunno, this actually seems kind of… good? Maybe I'm just not feeling very hater-y today but I see potential for this show. Or maybe I'm just happy that MTV is doing a scripted series as opposed to

Lapidus
I feel as though Lapidus represents "everyone else" on the Island. All the other survivors. He's a decent guy, nothing truly special. He's almost always commenting on the events of the Island and we haven't seen him impacting the events of alterna-world either. I think that's what he is supposed to be—the

Interesting thoughts.

Yeah, any lingering doubts I had about Smith vanished completely with the delivery of his line, "Nobody human can talk to me" towards the end of episode 2. Pathos, anger, and charm? Check, check, and check.

Gaiman ep will be great to see.

Mega points for Amy Pond. I like that she seems to be the most complex of the companions so far. She's a young woman about to do something very adult (get married) and she clearly has conflicting emotions over it. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.

Brilliant episode
Tennant who?

I was a bit sad to see her go since she was so integral to turning Ben towards the light with her whole "I'll have you" thing. Then again, I love when shows make it clear that No One Is Safe by unceremoniously killing off a character. (See also: Ms. Calendar's death in Buffy, The Vampire Slayer… even though there

Dad-rock!
So that's what they call Bon Jovi. I always knew there should be a term for it! Cheers, Rabin!

This is one of the rare times
that I disagree with Mr. VanDerWerff's review/essay/blog/whatever. I thought tonight's episode was a departure to be sure and, yeah, it probably doesn't herald any sort of great tonal shift or creative boon, but I have to applaud it for venturing (briefly) into realism. Also, I hate the

Need to be used more.

xkcd supporter here. Although since I have discovered story-based webcomics like Sam and Fuzzy I tend to read more of those.

There was a ROSEANNE episode where they all went bowling. It was one of the early ones with mulleted George Clooney who, in a totally believable fashion, was into Jackie. What a surprise that Chuck Lorre wrote for that show too…

Yeah, "Love and Monsters" and "Blink" are amazing episodes. Then again, for some reason, I am a huge fan of "Doctor-Lite" episodes (eps in which The Doctor rarely appears). "Turn Left" was a great episode although it was so mythology heavy (which paid off in the finale).

@Lovecraft in Brooklyn: Ditto. My dad still rages over the fact that the Daleks can fly now. According to him, they are supposed to be beaten by stairs.

Hyden used to cover CHUCK for TV Club. He pretty much ripped the first seven episodes (they then stopped for a while only to bring it back with Steve Heisler covering it). Heisler seems to have a better idea of what CHUCK is supposed to be, while Hyden basically used it as a place to bitch about the fact that he had

I haven't seen MONSTER HOUSE (although I would like to) but everything I have heard seems to echo Harmon's statements. My friends all said that it could have been a cool kid's flick but for some reason they kept pulling back on the reins.

I kind of think the whole concept of pilots are stupid. Granted, there are some as-close-to-perfect-as-you-can-get pilots (LOST, THE SOPRANOS) but I have never heard anyone say 'The best episode is the pilot." Obviously the great ones come down the line when the writers/producers/actors have had a chance to meld and

Disagree. This is a little known pilot. Murray had to load up the top half with a lot of exposition/clips so people like me (who hadn't heard of HV&J) would understand the point of his analysis in the latter half. Noel, great job. I want to see if I can find this thing in its entirety anywhere.

What do AV Commenters think of ANDY BARKER, PI. I never saw LOOKWELL so I can't weigh in, but I Thought ABPI was pretty goddamn funny.
